Seller’s Notes: A beautiful antique caned burled wood rocker.
This very old chair has a caned balloon back carved on the crest with a simple symmetrical design and an burled wood inlay on top rail. Outward flowing arm like supports meet the caned seat. Turned legs are connected with a box stretcher and finish with gently curved rockers. It stands 34 1/2″ at its highest. The seat is 18″ across and 18″ deep and the height from the floor to the seat is 16″.
it is a very old chair and shows some signs of significant use and some prior repairs. Both rails need additional support on the rear legs which should be relatively straightforward. The caning is in tremendous shape and clearly has been restored from original seat. Please see pictures for additional details.
